Trillium in the Community
Trillium staff live, work and serve right here in our local communities. Every week we’re in your neighborhood, establishing partnerships with community-based organizations to advance health equity, facilitate training and educational opportunities, and participate in local events and health fairs.
March Highlights
- Trillium staff hosted tables at a variety of health fairs, engaging iwth attendees and sharing resources that support whole heatlh:
- NAACP Health Fair
- Capacitación para Promotores de Salud hosted by Centro Cultural de Washington County
- Davis Elementary School Health Fair hosted by Rockwood CDC
- Slavic and Eastern European Job Fair hosted by Community Pulse Association
- East County Community Health Fair
- Trillium's Senior Health Equity Specialist participated in a panel discussion about youth mental health at the 3rd Annual Healing Summit, engaging in dicussion about some of our initatiives that address multiple Social Determinants of Health, including education and training for higher-paying jobs in the healthcare field, increasing high school graduation rates, and recruiting a diverse behavioral health workforce.
- Trillium’s Traditional Health Worker Liaisons facilitated two “Trillium 101: Access to Care” workshops with community partners, including one workshop facilitated in Spanish. These interactive sessions share information about our programs and services and explore how we can collaborate with community-based organizations and providers to improve the health of our members and local communities.
- Trillium's Tribal Liaison and Traditional Health Worker (THW) Liaison participated in a Tribal THW Gathering conference in Grande Ronde, Oregon to explore strategies to support the tribal THW workforce.
- Trillium's Tribal Liaison attended the NICWA 43rd annual Protecting our Children Conference, which is the largest national gathering on Native child advocacy issues and addresses tribal child welfare and well-being.
- Trillium staff attended two gala events honoring community organizations Quest Center for Integrated Health and PDX Saints Love.
- Trillium staff hosted tables at three health fairs: Beaverton Resource Center, Project Homeless Connect, and Reedsport Collective - Coastal Douglas County Baby Fair. We engaged with attendees and shared information about Trillium’s resources that support whole health.
- Trillium’s Traditional Health Worker Liaisons facilitated three “Trillium 101: Access to Care” workshops with community partners, including one workshop facilitated in Spanish. These interactive sessions share information about our programs and services and explore how we can collaborate with community-based organizations and providers to improve the health of our members and local communities
- .Trillium, in collaboration with the PacificSource Tribal Liaison, provided a training session to the South Lane School District to help educators and staff better support Native American youth and families. Topics explored included historical and intergenerational trauma, tools and strategies for culturally responsive interactions, best practices for family engagement, and more.
- Trillium’s Traditional Health Worker Liaisons facilitated three “Trillium 101: Access to Care” workshops with community partners. These interactive sessions share information about our programs and services and explore how we can collaborate with community-based organizations and providers to improve the health of our members and local communities.
- Trillium participated in two Lane County Stabilization Center Town Hall meetings, exploring ways we can support this new behavioral health treatment facility.
- To increase awareness about Traditional Health Workers (THWs), Trillium staff presented informational sessions about the five types of THWs and how they can help Trillium members reach their health and wellness goals.
- Trillium staff participated in the Children’s Center Community Conversations series about the Indian Child Welfare Act, learning more about how we can engage with our Tribal partners to support Oregon’s Tribal communities.
