“Our provider network works tirelessly to deliver services that address the whole person health of our members,” said David Hidalgo, Director, Provider Network and Maintenance for Trillium. “I’m honored to come to work every day and ensure we have the systems, processes, and partnerships in place to support the providers who change our members’ lives.”
David, who has an extensive background in clinical social work, previously served as a behavioral health provider for children, youth, families, adults, and seniors in a variety of settings, including clinics, hospitals, home health, and hospice. He has also worked for Medicaid managed care programs as a clinician, as well as provided care coordination and case management support. All of these experiences inspired him to seek strategies to effectively deliver integrated healthcare services to Oregon Health Plan members in communities across the state.
“While working in emergency departments, I quickly recognized the need for a strong behavioral health network in our communities,” he said. “Approximately 1 in 5 individuals will experience a mental health condition in any given year. Trillium’s mission resonates with me because we partner with providers and community organizations on a comprehensive approach to healthcare that addresses physical health, mental health, substance use, social supports, and social determinants to effectively treat the whole person.”
In his role as director of Trillium’s provider network relations, David actively seeks opportunities to support the challenges providers face today so they can provide the highest quality care to meet our members’ needs.
“We’ve seen incredible resilience from providers throughout the pandemic, and we know they are facing staffing challenges related to recruitment and retention,” David said. “With funding investments such as our Behavioral Health Workforce Stability Grants, and our ongoing work to offer education and training, as well as develop reimbursement and contract models that support integrative care, Trillium is committed to partnering with providers so they have the support they need to serve Oregon Health Plan members.
Trillium regularly connects with providers, community partners, local public health authorities, and our members to inform our approach and solutions to increasing access to equitable and culturally sensitive whole person healthcare services. If you would like to share your thoughts on how Trillium can help or join one of our committees, please contact your Provider Relations Representative or call Provider Services at 877-600-5472.
